Alaska is home to five species of Pacific salmon and all of them migrate annually to the Talachulitna River. King Salmon is the first to arrive in mid-June and these hearty fish put up a big fight and are good to eat. You can catch them using spinning tackle or on the fly. Alaska Sockeye Salmon are swimming in our river starting the last week of July and into August they are everywhere in the river. They are strong fighters and make excellent table fare. At the same time Chum Salmon & Pink Salmon also make their way up river, so you have any opportunity to reel in one of these amazing fish! Last but not least, Coho Salmon are fishable in August and will be hanging around for the entire month of August. The last three weeks of August the Chinook Salmon will begin to spawn, which brings in Rainbow Trout. The August & September months are excellent for fishing Arctic Grayling.
